There’s no deeper meaning or greater good. I dislike it for this. One part fond recollection of those halcyon days of ludes and disco and no-consequence sex. The other characters in this book are also very well realised; they feel humanand believable. Brilliant; I feel like such an atypical and dissatisfied queer after this read. So, it was this context that colored my reading of the novel.

I loved it and it ended up on my best reads pile. I like the very beginning and the very end of the book, actually I enjoyed rather the exchange of letters, a parallel story to a Malone’s story, so to say, that framed the main story-line that is set in between, and I appreciate the superb writing, but There were things I appreciated about this book.
