Beauty and the Werewolf () – Mercedes Lackey

In the book Bella is described as a blonde. The entire premise of the book falls apart with Sapphire reveals the circumstances of her enchantment. I do like Bella. Love, freedom, and the weerewolf to do some good — they’re the things worth living and dying for, and if you aren’t willing to die for the things worth living for, you might as well turn in your membership in the human werewollf. And it has Lackey’s usual attention to the details of how her characters live, which is one of the things I like best about her writing, and she’s reined in her tendency to costume porn though without sacrificing it altogether.

Eric hides a lot beneath the surface and is an intriguing character. Beauty lackeey the Werewolf has a climax that I found to be rather exciting … and the epilogue just rounded the fairy tale off nicely and follows the path of The Tradition.

Jan 18, Julie rated it really liked it. This is one of Lackey’s later projects, in which a number of stories are set lackej a series of magical kingdoms where a strong mythic tradition tries to twist its dwellers into fairytale lives.


Is the villain predictable? I did find that I suspected the villain from the beginning of the book, but that was ok. The review must be at least 50 characters long. Even evil magicians get up in the night and look for cookies, sometimes.

A Scandal in Battersea. Beauty and the Werewolf by Mercedes Lackey 1 8 Jun 26, Enough that in a real person, it would be very irritating very fast. Now, all of these books can be read independently of one another, and in any order, with no real problem. The only thing in the book that was a bit of a distraction was that I figured out the plot early on I absolutely loved this book, probably because I like a good fairytale.

Isabella is a wonderful protagonist along the lines of Lackey’s specialty: A werewolf story featuring a girl called Bella. The Wizard of Karres.

Bella is introduced to the titular werewolf, and her entire world view changes. I try to keep my world as solid and real as possible; people deal with stubborn pumps, bugs in the porridge, and love-lives that refuse to become untangled, right along with invading armies and evil magicians.

I do think I need breaks from the series and that I enjoy them much more not read back to back. Issue 30, January Werewoof brother I did not care for. I didn’t hate it but I didn’t exactly like it either. I had expected a narrative a bit less blindly following and simplistic.

Would you like us to take another look at this review? It does tone down the Mirror Servant quite a bit though, which is a pity, as I enjoyed his verbal sparring in other books. Bella is a little different from Beautj usual FHK female protagonist, because she has just a tinge of the manipulative and more than a tinge of the bossy about her.
