Would you like to tell us about a lower price? The Hawks are the investigators headed up by Lord Grammayrethe Hawklord who has a soft spot for Kaylin; Hanson is the secretary with a long memory. In any other series it would be so tiny as to be unnoticeable, mifhelle for the Cast books they qualify as gigantic leaps.
I have to say if Sannabalis has “grey” hair, it on be all si Oh my last reread of the series for now. The only real downside is that the continuing story, the story about Kaylin, is very slow.

Over the seven books, Kaylin has definitely grown in maturity, self-restraint and magic control. I am glad they didn’t leave us hanging about what happens with Dulcedeo. I was under the impression that the fiefs are completely separate from the Emperor and his hoard. Thanks to freak encounter with Mmichelle Destroyer, from which she had to be saved by Lord Nightshade, Kaylin is right in the thick of the action.
The Kingdom of Breodanir is facing a threat unlike any seen for centuries. When Severn makes hints about his feelings, I’m relieved as I’ve been waiting for this for a while now, and when he cqst his reasons for loving Kaylin and she acknowledges this it gave me hope.
Besides she does pretty well with the Arkon and he’s no picnic either. I did not enjoy how none of the characters seemed to change or grow.
Yup, that on-sight bit is a real possibility He was very cool asking her what she really wants with no judgement and no pressure. And Kaylin continues to be soooo emotionally messed up, I just want her to grow a bit and get with Nightshade, but looking at this book it doesn’t look good. For a private, she sure gets around.
And as always, it makes me want more. Are shadows breaching the boarders or is it something more ominous?

There sagaga no more to read in this series! Cherryh’s series this particular book is set over only a couple of days at most, starting directly after the last book finished. Must learn this trick.
The magic she welds is amazing. It happens to contain one o ,ichelle. The plot of the book is fairly complex and filled with quite of a lot of layers.
This is kind of inconvenient, since although the books are largely self-contained there are some callbacks to others in the series, and I’ve forgotten some of the characters. Will I read more?
