I found that it actually added to the story; made it more realistic for its high school setting. This book was even better having the author, Chris Colfer, read it to you because it made the emotional impact of the character’s actions and it just improved it greatly overall. I was very protective of the content, fearing if I just sold it off to the highest bidder it would be drafted into a story about a pothead losing his virginity, and not what I intended.
