Despite not being at all into zombies, I have found that the right book — one about the science and the mystery, rather than the blood, guts and gore — can work very well for me.

I liked it, but what I most got from it was that I wanted to go back to the world of the Newsflesh Trilogy and the era it is set in. I’m sad to say that only books 1, nesflesh, 3, and this novella are on audio right now but I plan to buy the others as soon as they hit audio shelves!

The story really coalesces in the second half, as people make conclusions and react, and the first cases of the Rising, well, rise. I love Mira Grant’s story telling and this is a great example of that.
I xountdown my hands off the controls, the building goes newsfledh lockdown. Like the heir to Garcia Pharmaceuticals. Readers can infer more potent events, and I think it’s newsrlesh powerful when it’s left to your imagination on what happened. Be ready to get just a tiny bit upset once you read it.

And Then John Was a Zombie: The standout character is Alexander Kellis, whose relationship with his husband is strained by his relationship with his research, newsflssh research that would unwittingly lead to the end of the world.
This is a super short story and left me wanting much much more, but it was still an extremely informative piece of writing that I felt was essential to truly understanding the Newsflesh world.
And any zombie freshly turned is more interested in making more zombies than in eating flesh for a while. A few would simply convert directly into zombies without dying.
