There is very little time in the story between the close of the last book, and where this one kicks off.
Book 3 was just as good as the first 2. His thinking was inspiration and he always spoke his mind. Jobling’s joblingg are clear; the first half of the book has a feel of Sinbad’s adventures, of Ray Harryhausen and swashbuckling films of old. Luckily, this gambit pays off, and though there are moments of confusion, these are brief and the benefits of having such a vast cast far outnumbers the weaknesses.
Garth Nix and Sean Williams. It definitely keeps pulling us forward with interest and anxious anticipation, though, I must say, that the circumstances continue to go from bad to worse for the protagonists.

With the help of an unlikely ally, he must find a way to break free – but who has ever managed to escape? I loved this book, the action, the fantasy, the characters. I hope that the rest of the series now lives up to my expectations! And the fact that he remains so idealistic, so committed, is actually very inspiring to see.
Hector has been my absolute favourite character in the series from the word go. I stumbled upon this series a while back and so glad I did. If you have read the last two books and enjoyed them, you will surely love this one. Hector is captured by Slotha, but encourages her to bring him to the lion king. A killer is on the loose.

Therefore, we get to meet a plethora of new characters on Tne, where the enslaved Drew is forced to become a gladiator; and we also get to see other parts of Lyssia and its seven realms, and its inhabitants, as Drew and his party head out across the ocean.
Everything great about this series is still here; great action, proper adventure, genuinely interesting characters, shades of grey and heart wrenching twists and turns. In this book of the series, Drew finds himself a slave, fighting to the death against other humans and animals.
Well, this was quite good curtos expertly interesting.
