Children’s book of the week: More Would You Rather by John Burningham
This was my favorite book of all time when I was a kid. A brilliant launch pad to burninghsm whether you are with one child or with twenty.
They love being able to interact with you as you read the story to them. Sep 21, Donna rated it really liked it. Captures his sense of humor and his curiosity about the world. Great burninghham to spark lively classroom conversations and jumpstart writing and graphying activities. As a teacher you can involve all the children in this book, for example, can use the voting system to see what children ‘will rather do’. It was very funny as it had silly options for the reader to pick from, if I found it funny, I can imagine how funny the children joun find it!
He decides yyou take Ruby back to the moon where she belongs. Each page gives you options and you have to choose which one you would rather do. It is also a really good springboard for discussions about making choices, especially for kids who see things in black and white.

John Burningham has written and illustrated over 30 utterly wonderful picture books, which have won countless awards and affectionate praise over the burninghzm. It gives you a sense of your child’s interests and sense of character as you can assess what type of things they would rather have or do. But, all in all, a very fun exercise.
